Plastisol is a liquid (free-flowing or highly viscous) vinyl dispersion that is fused by heat to form a solid PVC product. Plastisol can be formulated to achieve a wide range of physical properties and characteristics. Plastisol can have the characteristics and hardness of glass, or can be made as soft as a gelled plastic fishing lure. Colors can range from clear to fluorescent with a variety of metallic or other special effects possible. Formulations can also have an unlimited variety of finishes ranging from gloss to matte, and surface texture from flat to grainy. Plastisols can also be formulated to resist chemical attack, weather, UV light, dielectric strength, fire resistance, abrasion resistance and a virtually unlimited number of other properties. Lakeside Plastics has produced plastisols for over 30 years. There are no standard plastisol formulations, each customer’s formulations are customized to meet a specific requirements or manufacturing process. Listed below is a range of physical properties plastisols can produce.
